I warn you about this because my BRB recently started developing such symptoms, and while her movement has improved, I don't hold much hope there - I'm pretty devastated. If the substrate is damp all the time, they can develop skin infections on the ventral surface (their bellies).Īnother thing to watch out for with any boa or python is IBD (Inclusion Body Disease) which most often presents itself with severe neurological symptoms (significant difficulty moving or reorienting from an upside-down position, and stargazing). You do have to make sure that humidity isn't too high though. You'll know if the humidity isn't high enough if your snake doesn't shed completely or begins having digestive issues. They're not hugely difficult to take care of, but you do definitely have to make sure that water is available at all times (pretty standard for any snake). That being said, they're very different from corn snakes, which I also keep. I have one - have had one for the past two years - and I've never had problems with her behaviour. Either clear the area and it will likely move along, or call your local wildlife service instead. Not only is it illegal in most states, it is senseless and unnecessarily places you at risk.
